Christopher Nelson has over 50 TV movies and pilots to his name, with a career spanning more than 70 television series, movies, and pilots. Filmmaker of the Year Tribute
John Carpenter will receive the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year award. The filmmaker, screenwriter, producer, and composer is considered one of the most influential figures in horror and genre cinema. He was introduced to audiences in 1978 with 'Halloween' and has since directed classics such as 'The Fog,' 'The Thing,' 'Escape from New York,' 'Big Trouble in Little China,' and 'They Live.' His other credits include 'Christine,' 'Prince of Darkness,' 'In the Mouth of Madness,' and 'Vampires.'
Sabrina Plisco commented on the honor. "John Carpenter makes movies that get under your skin and stay there," she said. "Few directors understand rhythm, tension and restraint the way he does, and he has always trusted his editors to help him find it."
Carpenter joins a prestigious list of past Golden Eddie recipients. That group includes Ang Lee, Spike Lee, Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Guillermo del Toro, Christopher Nolan, and George Lucas.
