Australian brands launch eight new

Eight new furnishings from Australian design brands have been launched on Dezeen Showroom. The selection includes accessories, lights, seating, and tables from established and emerging studios based in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, and the Gold Coast.

Products stem from various brands. They are now featured in an affordable showcase space for brands to launch new products to a global audience.

Seating and Tables

Sydney-based studio Design By Them has released the Sail table, designed by Tom Fereday. Its tabletop has crimped edges that tuck underneath. Made from powder-coated aluminium, it comes with a textured or clear finish and is suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

Brisbane-based brand Derlot has released Trio seating, designed by founder Alexander Lotersztain. It is a single block of low-density polyethylene thermoplastic containing three deep bucket-like seats, intended for public spaces. For more on current design fixtures, see our fixtures page.

Lighting Collections

Melbourne-based brand Rakumba worked with designer Adam Goodrum on the Hangman lighting collection. Inspired by the childhood paper game, it includes jointed pendant, floor, and table lights with segments that can be swivelled into different shapes.

Ross Gardam's Melbourne studio offers the Solace Chain pendant light. Delicate chains hold teardrop-shaped glass shades. It comes in various metal and glass finishes and can be hung alone or in groups.

Soktas, based on the Gold Coast, released the Flo wall light. It features a metal wall plate crowned with a glass shade. Each light is handmade, making every piece unique in shape.

Tom Fereday also collaborated with brand Nau on the Nola table lamp. It is made entirely of glass, coming in two sizes and either clear crystal or cloudy white jade stone. When illuminated, it provides soft, warm mood lighting.

Room Dividers and Rugs

Sydney's Fold Studio, led by designer Pauline Ollmann, now offers two room-dividing screens. The Woven-Fold and Fabric-Fold screens have solid wood frames filled with woven rattan and material, respectively.

Australian brand Armadillo, with showrooms in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, has released the Meridian rug collection. It includes nine styles available in neutral Desert, Silt, Walnut, or undyed Oat colourways. The rugs are defined by natural fibres and handwoven textures.
