Fantastic Fest Unveils 2026 Lineup with World Premieres and Genre Favorites
The 21st edition of Fantastic Fest will feature 35 World Premieres, 21 International and North American Premieres, and 14 U.S. Premieres, showcasing the best in genre cinema from around the globe.

The 21st edition of Fantastic Fest is set to open with the world premiere of Zach Cregger's 'Resident Evil', an adaptation of the popular video game series. The film, produced by TriStar Pictures, Constantin Film, and Davis Films, stars Austin Abrams and is directed by Cregger, who previously directed the Oscar-winning film 'Weapons'.
The festival's lineup features a diverse range of genre films, including world premieres of Chroma's 'Play House' and Shudder's 'The Cycle', as well as North American premieres of Bleecker Street's 'Victorian Psycho' and Shudder's 'Bloody Tennis'. The U.S. premieres include Prime Video's new series 'Carrie' from Mike Flanagan and Independent Film Company & Shudder's 'River'.
Director Walter Hill will be honored with a special award for his contributions to genre film, and a special screening of his neo-Western action thriller 'Extreme Prejudice' will follow, along with a conversation with Hill.

The festival will take place from September 17-24, 2026, at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar in Austin, TX.
